NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are asking for the public's help finding a missing teen, authorities said. On Tuesday night, the Newark Department of Public Safety issued a missing person alert for Al-Samir Williams, 14, of Newark. Williams was reported missing on Tuesday. Detectives were still searching for his whereabouts as of Wednesday morning, authorities told Patch. Al-Samir was last seen at 5:30 p.m. in the area of Nairin Place near Vernon Avenue. He is 5 feet 7 inches and 160 pounds, and has a medium-brown skin complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He may be wearing black Adidas sweatpants and a black bubble jacket, authorities said. "While police are actively searching for Al-Samir, we request the public's help in quickly locating him so that he can be reunited with his family," authorities said.
