Press release from Johnson City Parks & Recreation: February 1, 2022 Our state symbols are a rallying point. They speak to the state's cultural or commercial heritage and its natural beauty. Connie Deegan will offer a program on Tuesday, Feb. 8 from 10:30-11:45 a.m. at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., to explore the nature-based Tennessee state symbols including the wildflower, reptile, insect and others. Deegan also will share the stories behind why they were chosen as state symbols. All ages are welcome to this free session. Please register at MPCC or by calling 423-434-6237.
