BIRMINGHAM, AL — Taking the advice of health officials statewide, Gov. Kay Ivey announced this week that she is extending the Safer at Home ordinance — which includes the mandatory mask order — into January. While the rapid spread of coronavirus cases continued in Alabama, at least one positive story came out of Birmingham this past week, as progress continues on Protective Stadium downtown. The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex announced the topping out of the stadium as the project remains on track to be completed in time for UAB's 2021 football season.
