HUDSON COUNTY — Due to track and switch work on the PATH train lines this weekend, according to the Port Authority, there will be no direct PATH service from Hoboken to New York City on Sunday, Feb. 6, between 3 a.m. and 8 p.m. Instead, there will be a "Special Train" to the Newport PATH station in Jersey City, near the waterfront. From there, one can transfer to head to Journal Square in Jersey City (and then to Newark or the World Trade Center), or take the 33rd Street train across the Hudson River. A map is here. (Note: PATH also has advised that this Thursday, a drawbridge opening between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. may delay the Newark/World Trade Center line. Read more about Thursday here.) To get to Hoboken from other points on Sunday, take the Journal Square or 33rd Street train to Newport in Jersey City, then change. Note that you can also take the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail from Hoboken to Newport and then take a very short walk from the Newport light rail station to the Newport PATH station.
