My philosophy is "Everything I ever needed to know about business I learned on the sports field." From Behind The Scoreboard, I feature the sports stories that tell us much more than simply who won or lost. These personal and inspiring experiences of grade school, high school, college, other amateur and even pro athletes allow all of us to reflect a little more on what is important in life. ~ James C. Metzger, Chairman and CEO, The Whitmore Agency _______ Bronx Kid Leads On The Gridiron, At Home And For The Country Christian Anderson was prepping for his junior year at the United States Military Academy at West Point when he got the call. The message was to go home to take care of his parents who had contracted the earliest cases of COVID-19 in New York City. A graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School in The Bronx and a standout player on Army’s gridiron, Christian first helped get his parents back on their feet. He also continued to strengthen himself for the season with some conditioning equipment borrowed from his high school. When all the boxes had been checked, Christian returned to the academy. Christian has shared quarterback duties with several teammates. Throughout the season, no matter his role, Christian’s focus has been to help Army accomplish all its goals on the field. One of those goals, as it is every season, is to defeat Navy. Check! Army put that one in the win column a couple of weeks ago. To learn more about Christian, please click on my blog.
