The Medical Examiner's Office conducted the autopsy and has identified the victim as forty-five-year-old Shelby Dorris Jr. The cause of death was a gunshot wound, and the manner of death is homicide.
Dorris was a resident of Imperial Beach. His family has been notified of his death.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Homicide Unit at (858) 285-6330. After hours, call the Sheriff's Department non-emergency line at (858) 565-5200. You can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. You could be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
