Description
SANDY SPRINGS, GA – Northside Hospital patients will get keep Anthem insurance coverage a few months longer, a judge ruled last week.
In the ongoing dispute between the hospital groups, thousands of Georgia patients of Sandy Springs-based Northside Hospital have been on the precipice of losing healthcare coverage, Northside officials said.
Northside's contract with health insurance provider Anthem ended on Dec. 21, 2021, potentially leaving more than 400,000 patients, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
But a Fulton County Superior Court Judge last week granted a second injunction – a 30-day injunction to cease the termination was already in place – extending the service through mid-April.
This injunction keeps insurance in place allowing patients to keep Northside physicians while the two sides continue to negotiate a new agreement.
