JOB TITLE: Shop Apprentice This is an apprentice (entry level) position with the ability for lots of growth. Show us your desire to learn, be on time, show up daily, do what it takes to get 'er done and the sky is the limit!!! ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist Builder’s by cutting, prepping, sanding, &/or assembling parts and components • Assist CNC Operator by loading and unloading router table • Assist Warehouse team by palletizing &/or crating finished product, crate repair, pulling & preparing customer assets, loading & unloading trucks, etc. • Maintain organized, productive, & safe workspaces – both individual and facility wide • Assist with general facility tasks as needed (sweeping, emptying trash/recycling, restocking supplies, etc.) • Assist other team members as needed to keep projects on track • Maintain Alexander Exhibit’s high-quality standard while maintaining the integrity of the design REQUIRED SKILLS: • A basic comfort level with a variety of shop tools & equipment • Ability to listen well, take instruction, and be a quick learner • Ability to safely lift & move heavy objects • Ability to safely work from lifts &/or ladders • Ability to stay task oriented • Ability to work well & communicate clearly with others while having a “ready to help” / “can-do” attitude • Must have pride & attention to detail in workmanship • Must be reliable/punctual, safety oriented, and drug/alcohol free while at work ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE SKILLS or EXPERIENCE: • Tradeshow exhibit industry experience • Experience operating a forklift • Experience working in a wood, metal, or machine shop • NOT REQUIRED BUT A BONUS: 25 years of age, valid driver’s license with a clean driving record • Motivated to improve and to move up in the company NOTES: • Occasional overtime and/or weekend work IS REQUIRED. When we are busy, we are ALL working past 8 hours and on the weekend. This is mandatory when we are trying to meet deadlines for our live events shows. Our business is up and down. If you want to see that overtime on your check, its available from time to time. Your check will never be the same amount here. We enjoy it when we are busy and enjoy it when its slower but we are looking for a TEAM PLAYER!
