Organic Tomato Plant Nursery & Shipping - Lomita/Harbor City area. We have seasonal positions for 2 team members. Training for this job begins February 7th -14th with limited hours for orientation and training until March. Full-time begins in March and continues through June. Specifics will be discussed at our interview. Requirements: Friendly, outgoing, teachable. Able to handle a pallet jack or ready to learn is a plus but not mandatory. Heavy lifting a plus but not mandatory. We need one team member who can lift and carry 40 lb. bags of potting soil and garden products. Tend nursery plants: water, feed, spray. (All organic/safe.) Use a manual paper cutter. Prepare and package tomato plants for customer pick-up and shipping, set up on-site sales. Take phone messages. Able to chat with customers. Have reliable transportation. If you smoke cigarettes, are afraid of bees or getting dirty, do not apply. Age is not a factor. Please be mature, punctual, sober, well groomed and able to handle some fast paced shipping days with our friendly, supportive team. Mon - Fri 8:00 - 5:00 and one weekend day. Six days per week in April and May. If asked to interview in person, you may be hired on the spot. Please arrive ready to work: jeans, work shirt, work shoes and shade hat.
