That's why so many hobos have flocked to CA. Besides the fact that the new law says they can camp anywhere on public property, they get their income from pan handling. If people would stop giving them money, they'll go back to their home states and get a job. A few years back at the market I was working, a homeless guy was in front of the store with his please help sign. The store manager offered him a job as bagboy and stocker. He said NO, it doesn't pay enough. He can make much more bumming. One time around Christmas I was stuck in traffic on the street and saw a bum on the corner with his help sign. As I inched through traffic, several cars crawling by were handing him money. He took in six bucks in three minutes as I passed. I'm thinking WTF, I was only making $13 an hour at the time. At that's before all the deductions.
