Description

****Please take a moment to read the entire post so that you are fully aware of the situation**** Two male ferrets in need of a new home. 1 albino, named Noid age 5 and 1 masked/raccoon named Trippie age 4. They will come with toys, leashes, clip on cage bowls, a 1 gallon ziplock bag of food, nail clippers, a couple of beds and some optional diy things like a ballhouse and a big bin (their favorite sleeping spot) as well as 2 tunnels. No cage or pen included. Asking for 60 for all of this, optionals will not add to the price. I can also throw in some of the blankets ive used for them. I took these fellas in a couple months ago for a friend who was having a really bad time. Ive been recently informed that they will not take these boys back and will be leaving the state. As a ferret owner in the past, I would love to keep them and sure intend to have more ferrets in the future but at this time I am not committed financially or mentally to take on the responsibility long term. I simply do not have the time or money to give them them the loving care they deserve. Please take into account a few things before responding to this ad, some of these things an experienced owner probably knows. -The age. As Marshall ferrets, basically the number one breeder of ferrets in the US, they have I believe an average lifespan around 7 to 8 years. It is not uncommon that they live to 10 or 11 and I have even known a ferret make it to 14 (and this was without the often strict recommendations a ferret community would suggest). All that said, they would be considered middle to late aged. -Marshall ferrets also have a genetic disposition for certain cancers -The food. While it is actually standard for ferrets to be fed kitten food, they have to my knowledge been fed purina kitten chow almost all their lives and Ive had a hard time getting them to eat much else. I highly recommend that you continue to try to ween them off this brand (a popular brand is wysong, there are plenty of options). Whatever you do just dont feed them any Marshall brand food. You are better off keeping them on that brand of kitten chow as opposed to that. DO NOT FEEL BAD if you cant get them off the chow, if they continue to be happy id call that a win. -Trippie has a bump near his private area. Im 95 percent sure hes had it his whole life and has shown no signs of discomfort or ill health while hes been with me. -Only once and early on Noid experienced constipation. I fed him a mix of pumpkin puree and egg with a pinch of vasoline thru a turkey bastor and he was fine in 2 days. It has not reoccured. -Overall, they both seem to be in excellent health and I have no concerns, I just wanted a potential home to be aware of these things and I dont want anyone to expect that they are gonna be around for another 10 years. If they do however, thats awesome!!! If you made it thru this novella and are still willing to take these sweet boys in, please contact me. All you need is a cage or pen and a means of transporting them from a public spot in pawtucket. I do have a small kitten carrier ill be bringing them in which im willing to part with for 15, putting everything at 75 together. If you have questions on the extras im providing or flat out just want the ferrets thats fine but 60 is the base fee no matter what you decide. This sunday is ideal, I can meet after work other days but that will be at night and will potentially be random, id say anywhere between 5pm and 8pm.
