Semmes & Co. Builders, Inc., a General Contractor, seeks a highly motivated, Project Supervisor to plan and oversee the site construction activities for high end custom residential builds. Our ideal candidate will be a team player that combines hands on construction skills with computer and management experience. Responsibilities • Work with a team to complete the Final Estimate, Clarifications and Contract for your projects. • Obtain & validate competitive bids for necessary trades. • Ensure all changes to specifications, work scope and drawings are documented and covered for cost. • Collaborate on project budget management. • Perform inspections at completion of each construction phase, and sign-off on quality of workmanship with crew leaders and external subcontractors. • Build and update project schedules. Be responsible for ensuring completion of activities according to schedule. Expedite and coordinate any delayed or potentially delayed activities. • Provide recommendations for improvements to operating procedures. • Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by administering and enforcing safety standards. Skills • Must possess high level carpentry skills with the ability to alternate between supervision and construction work, as needed. • Provide leadership in a diverse workforce full of varying skill level. • Ability to manage multiple construction projects in varying stages of construction simultaneously • Exceptional organization skills, with an ability to understand and work with established processes and procedures to keep projects on track and meet deadlines. • Ability to create budgets, assess bids, and work with construction plans. • Must possess at least an intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe, and an ability to learn MS Project and QuickBooks, or other programs as necessary. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for use in client and vendor interactions. • Attention to detail, especially with materials, measurements, colors, product specs, etc. • Experience and ability to cultivate client relationships and to work effectively as a team member on projects that can last between 6 months and 2 years. This position is ideal for anyone with a minimum of 5 years of construction and leadership experience with an interest in sustainability. This is a full-time position with benefits.
