Description
Get comfy. Here's the story.
What you're looking at below is the current condition of my pathetic little fireplace.
So far over the past 3 months, I've sunk over $2,000 into demoing the old flagstone hearth, paring down the façade, installing a stone brick veneer, and laying new slate tile, and I'm STILL nowhere near the finish line.
My vision is to have a small wood stove installed where the existing wood carriage is, effectively making this a conversion. I also need to cut/install wood columns and a mantlepiece, but for the sake of my sanity, I'm doing one thing at a time.
WHAT I NEED is someone competent *and* confident (a tall order, I know) who can do the following:
1. Install the new wood stove
2. Cut a 4"-5" hole into the existing cast iron flue flap (see picture)
3. Run the new wood stove flue pipe up to the roof exhaust (about 17 feet)
4. NOT show up stoned, cracked out or on meth, drunk, drooling, and/or more than 30 minutes late
I BELIEVE that somewhere out there in the Denver metro area, there is an affordable, skilled GC or metal worker/contractor who can make this happen for me. AND (here's the good part) I'm willing to pay MORE than a fair price for the job.
If this sounds like you, please send me a quote for the work and a way to contact you preferably by phone.
I do not have the wood stove ordered yet, but once I find the right contractor, I'll pull the trigger on it.
Please, save me from my slow descent into madness.
Help me finish this project so I can restore stability in my life.
