DANVERS, MA — Danvers is offering a free flu shot clinic next week at Danvers High School.
The "Fight the Flu" drive-thru clinic will be Oct. 18 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the high school parking lot. The flu shot is free for those 9 years old or older. Pre-registration is required and can be done here.
Gov. Charlie Baker said in August that students not vaccinated by Dec. 31 risk being excluded from school both in person and at home.
"It's the smart thing to do," Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito said at the time.
The vaccine will be mandated for all students going forward, said Marylou Sudders, the state secretary of Health and Human Services in August.
The immunizations will be required from the age of six months on for attendees of Massachusetts child care programs, pre-schools, K-12 schools, and colleges and universities, the Department of Public Health announced.
