DANVERS, MA — Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School will go to fully remote learning for the two weeks following Thanksgiving because of coronavirus concerns.
Superintendent Heidi Riccio said the "difficult" decision was made in collaboration with input from the local health departments.
"We recognize that our students and staff and not necessarily transmitting COVID from others within our immediate community," Riccio said in a message to the school community. "However, we believe this is the best option for us as we enter into the Thanksgiving holiday break."
Riccio said she hopes the school will return to hybrid learning on Dec. 14.
"When we return to live instruction the building we will maximize students' time in (career and technical education). As always, we appreciate your support and cooperation."
Riccio said parents will be updated this week with more information on the remote learning schedule.
