DANVERS, MA — While young Danvers students may not be able to go to holiday parties this year, the Danvers YMCA is looking to provide some safe, fun events that keep spirits up during the season.
Starting on Christmas Eve, the YMCA is offering its winter break programs for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Families must pre-register for the programs by Dec. 18. Cost is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. The programs run 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day with Christmas Eve closing at noon.
Christmas Eve is a "pajama movie day" with gingerbread making, hot chocolate and popcorn.
Dec. 28 is Disney Dress Up Day where students can dress up their favorite Disney character.
Dec. 29 is Record Setters Y Olympics Day where students are encouraged to dress up in their favorite team colors or sporty outfits and take part in fun and silly athletic activities.
Dec. 30 is Carnival Day with an ice cream party.
Dec. 31 is the New Year's Eve Rock N' Roll Party with music, lunch, treats and a special countdown.
Those wishing to register can do so here.
