DANVERS, MA — A little bit of rain and less demand in the fall will allow Danvers to eliminate its outdoor water restrictions. The Danvers Department of Public Works said that as of Monday the town will go to "Level 1" — which is considered "normal winter conditions" with no restrictions. "The town would like to thank its residents for following these water restrictions to help conserve water," the Danvers DPW said. More than 92 percent of the state was seeing at least moderate drought conditions as of Monday, with 48 percent seeing severe and 10 percent extreme drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. Nearly 6.5 million residents are in some sort of drought. This week saw two bouts of rain with scattered showers on Friday and a strong cold front that brought high winds and rain to the North Shore Wednesday morning.
