INSPIRATIONS Did you enjoy watching The Queen's Gambit? This is an opportunity especially for elementary and high school students, but also for anyone to become a better learner and creative thinker thru chess training! We endeavor to make our sessions informative and affordable at the same time. CONCEPTS Tactic vs. strategy, checkmate, castling, promotion, openings, middle game, endgame, fianchetto, en-passant, draw, skewer, decoy, gambit. No experience is necessary FREE TRIAL & REGISTRATION 1 hour long free trial (free trial is available only via Zoom) -see notes at the bottom for fees and available Saturdays CONTACT: mobile (texting usually available) (ideal for 1st– 6th Grade – or anyone below 1200 rating) (personal introduction video) WHEN, WHERE, COST, PAYMENTS & CANCELLATIONS All sessions run Noon-7PM on Saturdays, online via Zoom or one on one. 1 to 4 hour sessions ($14 per hour) 5 to 9 hour sessions ($12 per hour) after 10 hours ($10 per hour) -see notes for available Saturdays In-Person Classes will be canceled if we don't have enough participants at the same Saturday & classes require full payment upon scheduling. Payments are only via PayPal or Venmo for online classes, and for in-person classes via PayPal, Venmo, cash or credit card. Upon cancelations funds will be via PayPal or Venmo. Cash or credit is excepted for only In-Person Classes. No credit card payments for online classes. We meet at Pod Hotel at 42 Street. When we have in-person class, we require the guardian/parent to be near us (near instructor & the student) during the entire chess session. Please no food during our sessions. NOTES: 1. Our current calendar for available Saturdays are: February 5, 19, 26, March 26, April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 for in-person sessions 2. First come first served scheduling. 3. Group lessons are available up to two students, but not encouraged because of our teaching method and capabilities 4. Our current scheduling will be updated, and please check frequently including at the day of the class. 5. Please be ready to provide us an email address, phone number, full name of both the student and the guardian/parent. 6. No refund guarantied for cancelations earlier than 72 hours to the session (ends at Wednesday at Noon, 3 days before the class date).
