Trying to see God's will for you after college? Join us for a weekend retreat of service, prayerful discernment, and Catholic brotherhood! A Weekend Pursuing the Call of ChristSeton Teaching Fellows–a Catholic missionary program that places young men and women of faith in inner city America to bring quality education, holistic catechesis, and the light of the Gospel to underserved youths–is hosting a men's discernment retreat in Cincinnati, OH the weekend of April 8th-10th! We're partnering with local religious, current missionaries, and lay Catholics who are actively living an apostolate to bring a weekend of discernment and service in Cincinnati's Price Hill neighborhood! This spiritual retreat is for young Catholics who are considering authentic Christian service after college. Whether you're considering a year of missionary work, a career devoted to ministry, or even religious life, this spiritual retreat is a chance to focus in on the acts of discernment and charitable service. What the retreat entails:On this spiritual retreat you'll have the chance to: Hear the testimonies of other young men who have been called to missionary work, religious life, and the priesthood. Encounter missionary organizations that are bringing the love and truth of Christ to underserved communities in inner city America.Interact with youth and community members of the Price Hill neighborhood, where a number of Christian ministries are active.Work at a mission site with Seton or one of our local partners in ministry for a morning.Build fraternal brotherhood with other young men who feel called to radically follow Christ and share the Gospel message in word and deed.Dive into the process of discernment via religious talks, and have the chance to exercise discernment in prayer before the sacraments.Spend a weekend nourishing your faith and trying to see the will of God in your life! Who can attend?This is a free men's spiritual retreat. The retreat is tailored towards college juniors and seniors; however, college graduates and underclassmen are able to participate as well. Young men from any region, city, or state, are invited to attend! We'll cover all your food and lodgings for the weekend, but you'll have to be responsible for transportation to and from the retreat site (more details below). Where will we be?We'll be staying and serving in Cincinnati's Price Hill neighborhood for the duration of the spiritual retreat. Lodging will be at BLOC Ministries' retreat center (address to follow). However, we will spend time at a number of locations, which can be viewed in the itinerary. ItineraryThe following is an itinerary for the spiritual retreat -- Times and details are subject to change as logistics develop; activities and locations will be added as they are confirmed. Friday April 8th4:00-5:00 pm: Early arrival at BLOC's retreat center (if, due to travel, you must arrive later, please coordinate with [email protected])5:00-7:00 pm: Lenten Fish Fry at St. Williams Church with local missionaries, religious, and a high school youth group.7:30-9:00 pm: An opening talk from organizer and former missionary and educator Jacob Coonradt, followed by Stations of the Cross and time for personal prayer and meditation.Saturday April 9th6:30 am: Morning Prayer7:00 am: Breakfast8:00 am - 12:00 pm: Tour of the neighborhood and service work. Check out local ministries in the Price Hill neighborhood and spend time doing volunteer work at various sites.12:00-1:00 pm: Lunch1:00-5:30 pm: Spiritual talks from local religious, missionaries, and lay Catholics. Breakout groups to follow. Adoration and Confession with time for personal prayer, followed by a Saturday Vigil Mass.6:00 - 8:30 pm: Dinner, activity, and outing with Romero Academy Youth Group. Hang out with a middle school youth group composed of students from a Seton Teaching Fellows mission site. Spend time getting to know and interact with the youth our missionaries love and serve everyday as they witness the Gospel message.8:30-9:00 pm: Night PrayerSunday April 10thMorning Prayer and personal meditationMassBreakfastClosing Panel and Q&ADepart from Cincinnati What do I need to bring?Attendees will need to provide their own transportation to Cincinatti. We will have a place for attendees to sleep and shower, and will provide bedding, but attendees will need to bring their own personal items and toiletries. We will provide meals for Friday night dinner through Sunday morning breakfast. Attendees should bring a bible and rosary for prayer. Dress will be casual throughout, but we recommend that attendees bring clothing that is comfortable and suitable for light manual labor and outdoor work while volunteering at service sites on Saturday morning. We will interact with middle school and high school youth groups Friday and Saturday night, and dress should be appropriate for such an occasion.
