Description

Bethany Community Garden FREE Gardening Class Series: Companion Planting and Perennial Vegetables February 15: Companion Planting and Perennial Vegetables Companion Planting—This class will introduce Companion Planting, which is the arranging of crops so they complement each other in some way. Leave with basic knowledge needed to get started. Perennial Vegetables—Have you ever wished you could plant your vegetables one time and harvest them for years? Good news-some of them you can! This class will cover 5 popular perennial vegetables. The hope of Bethany Community Garden is to build community while gardening together.  Harvested produce will be shared by the gardeners, with additional produce being donated to two local food pantries; A Servant’s Heart and Hunger Inc. In 2020, Bethany Community donated about 5,000 lbs of produce. Backyard Gardeners are encouraged to bring their excess produce in on Tuesday evenings during the growing season to be donated to the food pantries.
