The Jim Bern Company is currently looking to hire an additional member to enhance their maintenance team. We are a family owned company with 209, 3 bedroom townhomes located across Milwaukee County. The ideal candidate would be someone with experience with the following repairs: - Troubleshooting and repairing leaky faucets, sinks, toilets and shower fixtures. - Has knowledge of installing interior and exterior doors, including lock sets and has experience staining and varnishing doors. - Has knowledge of installing mini blinds and repairing screens. - Available to remove large items such as furniture or dressers from the dumpsters and help to maintain dumpster areas as needed. - Willing to do light seasonal landscaping to include trimming a line of hedges, spot weed control, and trimming shrubs. - Perform minor exterior repairs such as install dryer vent guards, window well covers, fence repairs, grading small areas by a building, basic concrete repair. - Comfortable entering work notes into company software (Yardi) and locate and determine maintenance request directions from software (Yardi). - Possess a team approach and works well alongside others. - Understands the importance of daily communication to the Property Manager on the progress of maintenance requests and unit turns. - Able to be organized with reporting receipts and materials needed for jobs to assist the office in correct input of information. Desired skills: - Possess basic appliance repair, ie troubleshooting refrigerator, stove and garbage disposal issues. - Skilled in drywall repair: able to do a quality repair for a hole in the wall or crack, able to repair larger screw holes in wall to prep for painters.
