CHELMSFORD, MA — Although heroes walk among us even when there's not a pandemic to deal with, tough times tend to help us see them and are reason to celebrate them. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
This submission comes from Barbara Reilly.
Like many people around town, Reilly knows Philip Stanway from his involvement in town activities. Stanway, who has lived in town since 2001, is active in the community and is active on the social media pages in town.
He's been one of the directors of the Chelmsford Land Conservation Trust for the past five and a half years. He also works at Morgan Scientific.
Stanway makes sure that the beaches, parks and community gardens are well taken care of. Reilly said he is deeply concerned about the open spaces here in town and want to keep the community beautiful.
One thing Reilly said everyone should know about him?
"Phil spends many hours of his own time when he is not working to volunteer around the town's spaces," she said.
He's behind a recent push to help make the town's public spaces more inclusive and accessible.
Thank you for all you do, Philip Stanway!
