SALEM, MA — Salem has added more streets where parking will not be allowed until further snow removal efforts can be completed. In addition to the list of streets the city released Monday, there will be no parking until further notice on the following streets: Warner Street - both sides near Arbella Street Crombie Street - both sides Wheatland Street - odd-numbered side Meadow Street - even-numbered side The Department of Public Services was posting "No Parking" signs on Monday and Tuesday with those restrictions remaining in effect until Salem Police Chief Lucas Miller revokes them and the signs are removed. As with a typical snow emergency, cars parked on these streets are subject to ticketing and towing at the owner's expense. The city is allowing temporary parking at several lots but asks that those who have access to off-street parking use those options to keep the alternative sites open to residents who need them. The Church Street lot is open for free from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. After 7 a.m. regular rates apply. The Universal Steel lot on Bridge Street is open for residents and free.Meters will not be in effect for the Salem Willows parking lot. Parking is free in the Forest River Park lot, the Gallows Hill Playground lower lot. the Mack Park upper and lower lots, the Castle Hill Playground lotand the Blaney Street/Salem Wharf lot Property owners are reminded that they are responsible for clearing snow from the sidewalks adjacent to their property. To report a snow-related issue, such as plowing or an uncleared sidewalk, please email [email protected] with the specific location and a description of the problem.
