PLANT CITY, FL — Update: A pedestrian was hit by several vehicles as they walked in the travel lanes of Interstate 4 eastbound at 5:37 a.m., Florida Highway Patrol said.
A medical examiner pronounced the person dead at the crash location.
The vehicles hit the victim near the Thonotosassa exit, according to troopers.
All eastbound lanes of I-4 are blocked as of 7:17 a.m. Tuesday morning, Steve Gaskins, police information officer, said in an email.
FHP is advising drivers to seek alternate routes and expect delays.
