Press release from the Port Jefferson School District: Feb. 1, 2022 Students in Port Jefferson Middle School are using their scientific inquiry skills in lessons with teachers Christina Carlson and Megan Roth-Ueno. The sixth graders recently experimented on and observed a mystery substance. Using their resources, they spent time recording their observations. "The students had a lot of fun working together on this lab," said Mrs. Carlson as they learned about the chemical reaction the mystery substance - citric acid and baking soda – have when they react with one another.
