Winner of three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize,Next to Normal was also chosen as "one of the year's ten best shows" by critics around the country, including The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone and The New York Times. February 26 Tarpon Point Marina, Cape Coral Join us at Tarpon Point for a wonderful afternoon of great taste! This expanded community event celebrates both culinary arts and music. Sample an international array of great food from more than 20 local restaurants, plus a wide variety of craft beers, margaritas, and wine. Enjoy musical performances from local bands and finish the day with another sensational Symphony at Sunset. Jose Valentino is a Sony Music recording artist and composer, an internationally-acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and educator known for his passionate performances, versatility, and fluid expression on the flute, saxophone, bass, piano, and Latin percussion. Jodi is honored and blessed to be a recipient of The Disney Legends Award having served the company for over 27 amazing years. Jodi has received worldwide recognition as the beloved, original voice of Ariel in the Academy Award winning Disney film The Little Mermaid. She continues to bring Ariel to life as well as the bubbly voice of Barbie in Disney/Pixar's Golden Globe winner Toy Story 2 and Oscar winning Toy Story 3. February 12 Music and Arts Community Center A moving concert featuring a program of Joel Thompson's Seven Last Words of the Unarmed, plus William Grant Still's orchestral tone poem Darker America of sorrow, hope and loss, and Joan Tower's Made In America. The Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers is a renowned chorus located in Fort Myers, Florida. Synonymous with powerful vocals, harmonic sounds and thrilling performances, the Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers has gripped audiences with performances of beloved masterworks and world premiere pieces. February 16 – March 4 Music & Arts Community Center I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is a comedy with book and lyrics by Joe DePietro and music by Jimmy Roberts. It is the second-longest running Off Broadway musical. The musical was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award as Outstanding Off-Broadway musical in 1997. I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is a witty musical that tackles modern love in all its forms: from the perils and pitfalls of the first date to marriage, children, and the twilight years of life. An insightful and hilarious musical, this show will have audiences shouting, "This is my life!" The Music of Billy Joel performed by Michael Cavanaugh February 20 Barbara B Mann Performing Arts Hall at FSW Handpicked by Billy Joel to star in the hit Broadway musical Movin' Out, Michael Cavanaugh received both Tony and Grammy nominations for the role. Named "the new voice of the American Rock and Roll Songbook" by Billboard, Cavanaugh will have you rockin' in the aisles to "Piano Man," "Uptown Girl," and "New York State of Mind."
