HACKETTSTOWN, NJ - A Hackettstown man has been charged in connection to a robbery at the Mountain Avenue Friendly's restaurant last year.
Erik Mitchell, 30, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and fourth-degree theft by unlawful taking on Jan. 31, Hackettstown police said in a statement.
On Feb. 12, 2021, at around 9:30 p.m., Mitchell passed a note to an employee demanding money, police said. He reportedly had a gun, but no gun was shown. Mitchell then took $241 in cash and fled the scene.
Following his arrest, it was discovered that Mitchell also had a $2,500 Mount Arlington Borough municipal court traffic warrant. He is being lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.
