ST. CHARLES, IL — The owners of Bogart's bar on West Main Street in downtown St. Charles will be opening a second bar in town, this one on East Main Street, Thursday.
The Lewis cocktail lounge, at 106 E. Main St., is a '70s-inspired cocktail lounge and is meant to be much different than Bogart's, which has pinball games, arcade games and plenty of references to '80s and'90s TV shows, according to the Kane County Chronicle.
"Bogart's is basically our childhood made into our bar," co-owner Rick Muermann told the newspaper. "It's just a little bit off, and it's a little bit weird, and we like it like that. When we started talking about doing something here, we wanted to do the exact opposite of what we did there. We wanted something totally different. And we came up with the idea of a higher end cocktail lounge."
The new lounge is set to open across from the Arcada Theatre at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
