EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — A house fire in East Providence on Monday left one resident and two cats displaced, according to fire officials.
Firefighters arrived at the Warren Avenue home around 9:30 p.m. and found flames coming out the rear of the house.
Fire officials said the fire was difficult to extinguish, because the nearest fire hydrant was frozen. Firefighters found a second hydrant nearby and put out the flames.
Fire officials said no injuries were reported.
