BURLINGTON, MA — Dozens of Burlington residents or visitors took the MA Travel Form in preparation to return from out of state over the last week, according to data provided by the town Health Department. A total of 69 people heading to Burlington completed the form from Aug. 18 to Aug. 25, public health director Susan Lumenello said. Most of them opted to get tested, rather than quarantining: 27 had already received a negative result, 12 were awaiting results and 12 were planning to get tested. Eighteen travelers were planning to quarantine. Travelers from all but a handful of states are required to either quarantine for two weeks or test negative for the coronavirus. Only travelers from Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Vermont are exempt from the order. Violators may face a fine of $500 per day. According to state data released Wednesday, fewer than five Burlington residents have had active cases of the virus over the last two weeks.
