BURLINGTON, MA — Forty communities were designated high-risk in the new town-by-town data released by the state Wednesday, but Burlington remained a moderate-risk town. State rules mean that high-risk communities, plus others that were high-risk in the last two updates, cannot move on to the next phase. Towns were marked high-risk, or red, if they reported more than eight confirmed COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents over the past two weeks. The state deemed Burlington yellow for a second week in a row. The town averaged 7.49 new daily cases per 100,000 residents, up from 5.4 on Sept. 30. >>MA Town-By-Town Coronavirus Stats: 40 High-Risk Communities Burlington reported 29 cases over the last two weeks, bringing the town's total to 323.
