Oregon City 'Proud Boy' Arraigned On Charges Stemming From Rally

PORTLAND, OR — A member of the Proud Boys, Miles Furrow of Oregon City, was in Multnomah County Court on Monday pleading not guilty to charges stemming from a rally last August that devolved into a near riot with members of the right-wing Proud Boys clashed with members of the left-wing Antifa. Furrow, along with Proud Boy leader Tusitala "Tiny" Toese and a third person – Justin Gidden – were indicted in December though it was not unsealed until Monday. At some point the charges against Gidden were dropped. Toese is being held in Washington on obstruction, trespassing, and assault charges. Officials say that he won't be extradited until after those charges are resolved. The rally that led to the charges was held August 22 in the parking lot of the Kmart on Northeast 122nd Avenue, not far from Parkrose High School. The date was picked because it was the first anniversary of a Proud Boy rally downtown. Both resulted in Proud Boy protesters and Antifa counterprotestors violently clashing. In both instances, Portland Police played a minimal role in restoring peace. In the 2021 incident, Furrow was photographed in the front of a pickup truck beating a counterprotested.
