BURLINGTON, MA — The Burlington School Committee voted to approve the administration's recommended hybrid reopening model, Monday night.
The committee voted four to one in favor of reopening with a hybrid model, with Carl Foss voting against. Foss advocated for a remote start and a phased-in return.
The hybrid model will be accompanied by a remote learning option available to all students.
The district's hybrid model would have elementary school students attend each morning in person and learn remotely in the afternoon. Middle and high school students would attend two days per week in person and learn remotely the other three days.
Ahead of the vote, Superintendent Eric Conti presented the district's plan to the committee and the committee took public comments. The full school committee meeting is available here, from BCAT.
