BURLINGTON, MA — The final five items of the fall town meeting warrant passed, Monday, in the second night of the meeting. All five articles pertained to zoning. Town meeting voters previously met Sept. 30 and addressed the warrant's first thirteen items. On the first night, voters passed more contentious articles including budget cuts and funding for a new diversity director position at the school district. The five remaining articles passed easily, Monday, at a relatively short meeting. >>Town Meeting Approves School Diversity Role, Budget Cuts Article 14 rezoned a certain parcel, 207 Cambridge Street, as part of the general business district. Town officials explained they hoped to encourage businesses like retail, hospitality and dining in that district. Article 15 created new definitions for storage, distribution, warehouse and wholesale facilities and greatly limited standalone warehouses and distribution facilities. Article 16 banned self-storage facilities. Article 17 electronic permitting. Article 18 banned short-term rentals in most of Burlington.
