ROSWELL, GA — The Roswell Fire Department will host two free community CPR classes Feb. 19 focusing on infant and child CPR. The classes will take place at the Bill Johnson Community Activity Building at Roswell Area Park, 10495 Woodstock Road. The classes will be offered at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. Participants must be at least 12 years of age and a resident of Roswell. To register for the class, please visit the City's website at www.roswellgov.com/fire. Each class is estimated to run 60-90 minutes and is limited to 20 participants. The Fire Department will use the American Heart Association's (AHA) Family and Friends CPR Course, according to a news release. The course is for those who want to learn CPR,but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their employer. Participants will learn lifesaving skills of child and infant CPR and AED use. It's ideal for students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters, and others interested in learning how to save a life. "Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment by using the AHA's research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible," the fire department said in the release. All COVID safety guidelines will be followed.
