UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A woman had a knife put to her throat after fighting back against a robbery attempt on the Upper West Side, police announced on Monday night. Around 7:15 p.m. on Jan. 10, a 22-year-old woman walked into a vestibule, which is the lobby area next to the outer door, at West 101st Street between West End and Broadway, and a man followed her in and grabbed her cellphone, police said. Police released information and photos about the robbery for the first time on Monday. When the woman resisted the robbery, the man pressed a knife against her throat, an NYPD spokesperson said. The robber then fled to the 103rd Street "1" train station. He was later photographed that day in the vicinity of West 40th Street and 8th Avenue, police said. Police released a picture for the first time Monday night of the man wanted in connection to the Upper West Side knifepoint robbery.
