BURLINGTON, MA — A Burlington police officer was charged Thursday with assault and battery on a household or family member. Prosecutors say David McLean, 51, of Dracut was involved in an altercation around 1 a.m. at a Dracut home. The Middlesex District Attorney's Office said McLean assaulted an "adult female victim who is known to him after a verbal argument." McLean was released on personal recognizance and ordered to stay away from and have no contact with the victim. He was also ordered not to consume alcohol. The next court date is June 18.
