Einstein's Workshop is excited to announce our new Fall 2020 Guided Learning program! It's a day program that takes place during the week and is intended to provide support and care for students outside the home when they are not at the school building. When attending our program students will attend their regular virtual classes and have homework time. During their free time we will engage them in STEM education in the category of their choice: Coding, Game Making, Robotics, or Making & Inventing. Who is this Program for? Students who have an interest and passion for STEM.Students attending 4th to 8th grade All students must be engaged in some virtual schooling during the day. **Note: On the week of Sept 14th there are also camp style programs available during the same time for students who are not attending school yet. The program begins on September 21st and Students can be registered for a Monday/Tuesday session, a Thursday/Friday session or both. What Will This Program Look Like? Start 8:30am - Start time is flexible depending on each student's schedule. Virtual Classes and School Work - Our staff will assist in making sure that students are participating in their classes on time and for the full duration. We will also set aside some time for homework. Guided STEM Learning - When students are not attending classes or doing school work we will engage them in Guided Stem Learning. *More on this below.Breaks and Food - We will be requiring students to disengage from the screens as a matter of safety and sanity. Breaks will be in their classrooms and we will also have some outdoor space for students to move around and get fresh air. Parents will pack/provide all food for the student. Food will be consumed either outside on break or in the classroom. Pick Up by 3:30pm Guided STEM Learning! When signing up for this Guided Learning Program, you and your student will choose a Primary and Secondary category that they are interested in. We have 4 categories to choose from: CodingRoboticsMaking & InventingGame Learning Students will be matched with other interested students and a teacher knowledgeable in that discipline. When students have time, the instructor will teach them about different tools and concepts in that discipline. Students who will be attending for successive weeks we will help them determine a project that they want to work on - a Master Project - which will help give them direction as they learn! Covid Safety Masks are required at all times indoorsWhen students are outdoors they may remove their mask when socially distant and with parent permissionClasses are 5 students and 1 instructorHigh touch areas, classrooms and bathrooms sanitized dailyDeep cleaning performed on Wednesday and FridaysTemperature and symptom checks performed before each entryAny student suspected of being ill are quarantined and sent homeAll parents of participating students will be notifiedQuarantined students are not allowed to return until a series of conditions are met (outlined in our policies and procedures handbook).All safety procedures will be authorized by the Board of Health, Dept of Public Health and Dept of Early Education and Child Care Learn More!
