Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company is currently hiring temporary Beach Security positions for our dredging project in Oak Island & Carolina Beach, North Carolina Position Description: Responsible for providing support to a dredging project jobsite in accordance with Company procedures. Such duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Post warning signs around the construction area • Maintain a standing post at the entrance to the construction area to keep unauthorized persons from entering the active construction zone. • Must accompany bulldozer or wheel loader when equipment is being operated outside the designated construction area and members of the public are present. • Must barricade areas around stockpiled shore pipe. Minimum Qualifications: • Must have good communication skills • Have good interpersonal skills to interact with the public • Have reliable means of transportation to and from work Compensation and Work Week: $ 15.00/hr; 12 hrs per shift's Candidate may be expected to work 6-7 days a week for duration of the project. Project is active 24 hrs/day, night shift may be required. Overtime pay will be paid for any hours worked over 40 hours.
