Need help with stereo system

I got a 2006 jeep commander that I guess in the past was connected to an amp. I got lots of amp wires coming out my dash I tried normally using the wiring harness and all I get is power I cant seem to figure out which wire helps with sound or is this whole amp setup in the way of that. If anyone knows about these sorts of issues please give me shout. With Good compensation. #7207077634 Charles
