Overdue Move Down South

Hi all, My name is Paul and I have been honestly contemplating a move from New England (where I live now and grew up all of my life). I am a simple guy who wants to live in a less hustle and bustle area of the country; a place where people are still kind and light-hearted. I am in my early 40s, and would only need a reasonable place (possibly an in-law type apartment) that offers peace and quiet. I am not ready to move just yet, but probably some time in the summer. If anyone has any ideas for me or would just like to chat about life down in western N.C., that would be great.
