Description
The Horticare Manager works hand in hand with our Maintenance Team to provide our clients with solutions to turf, shrub and tree care. Within the duties the manager will be able to identify and safely apply the appropriate chemicals after diagnosis of turf and plant issues. The manager will also communicate with clients to explain solutions to problems to maintain an atmosphere of trust and customer loyalty. Duties: 1. Identifying insects, weeds, and turf diseases and implementing appropriate control solutions. 2. Communicating and interacting with clients to promote sales and enhance the quality of their landscapes. 3. Completing monthly checks of residential properties and quarterly checks of commercial properties to look for problems and address client concerns. 4. Training of Spray Technicians to ensure proper work is done and safety procedures are always followed 5. Coordinating and directing the daily work activities of Spray Technicians to ensure all scheduled jobs are completed timely and efficiently with minimal down time. 6. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client files. 7. Ordering and keeping track of chemical and fertilizer inventory. 8. Maintaining and promoting a safe work environment, including vehicular and equipment safety. 9. Proper organizing and maintenance of all equipment and products. 10. Ensuring daily adherence to standards of cleanliness and order of all equipment and the warehouse. 11. Ensuring proper disposal of all pesticide/fertilizer residue and containers according to regulations. 12. Keeping up to date with OK Dept. of Agriculture to ensure we are following all rules and regulations. 13. Assists with development of long- and short-term goals, employee development, budgeting, purchasing and annual sales goals. 14. Flexibility to work a varied and demanding schedule based on seasonal and industry demand. Other Duties: 15. Assist the Maintenance Managers in getting staff in and out when in need or absent. 16. Participates in snow removal processes. May require evening, nighttime or holiday work in poor weather conditions. 17. Provide assistance in other job classifications as determined necessary by President.
