About: The Gaylord Apartments are located in the heart of Koreatown, Los Angeles. Originally established in 1924 as the Gaylord Hotel, the building has seen a variety of visitors and residents over the years. As a part of our team, you will help to ensure that this historical building and its legacy are well maintained. We’re currently looking for a team member to join our Maintenance crew. As a member of our maintenance team, you will help to ensure that daily operations run smoothly. You will be proactive in solving issues, friendly and approachable to tenants and willing to work as part of a team. Description: The Maintenance Technician will be a part of our on-site maintenance team, helping to ensure that the day-to-day operations of the property run smoothly while also being proactive in finding solutions to any issues that may arise. The position reports directly to the on-site Property Manager. Responsibilities: - Prepare vacant units for tenant move-ins - Adhere to all local and national safety protocols and standards - Paint and touch-ups to units, hallways and facilities - Willingness to receive additional training by on-site crew as needed - Assist crew with trash and recycling pick-ups - Handle maintenance requests assigned by the on-site supervisor - Provide additional support to the maintenance team as needed Experience: - 1+ years with residential and/or commercial properties - Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, heating, water and electrical systems - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Experience with large and/or historical properties is a plus Requirements: - High School Diploma or GED - Valid California ID - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
