A local family-owned company offering competitive pay and job security seeks commercial construction laborers, sheet metal duct installers, and pipefitters. Commercial construction labor & HVAC Sheet Metal Duct Installer needed. Entry-level or helper position- Experience in the general construction trades is preferable but not required for the labor/helper position; we will train a motivated, hard worker. Duties will include: Installing various types and sizes of sheet metal duct (Square, Round, Flex, Rectangle, Louvers, Fire-Dampers, and Grills) Fabricates Offsets onsite, using shears, hammers, punches, or drills. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Ability to safely work at heights and operate vehicles designed to work from heights, such as scissors man lifts. (Will train & certify entry-level positions.) Install rooftop units (RTUs) and curbs, Install Variable Air Volume (VAV) HVAC systems, seal ductwork, and perform general construction labor requirements such as lifting and material hauling, clean up, and basic knowledge and use of hand & power tools. HVAC Pipe Fitters and Helper- Responsibilities for Pipefitters: • Select the type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications. • Inspect worksites to determine obstructions and activities of other construction workers. • Assemble and install a variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, including different types made of brass, copper, lead, and plastic. • Join piping by means of threaded, soldered, brazed, and flanged. • Secure pipes to structure with clamps, brackets, or hangers using hand tools. • Install and Pipe air-conditioning systems like compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic/hydraulic controls, and piping for Chillers and Boilers. • Test piping systems for leaks and observe gauges for indications of leaks. -Requirements for Pipefitters: Pipefitter Must have experience with pipe fitting in the mechanical and HVAC industry. Be familiar with cutting, threading, soldering, and brazing tools/techniques. Have a knowledge of systems or systems being installed and be able to interpret blueprints and visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. Entry-level or helper position- Experience in the general construction trades is preferable but not required for the labor/helper position; we will train a motivated, hard worker. All applicants must be able to pass the standard Fort Hood background check that is required to get a standard entry pass.
