About Green Abundance by Design: We are a growing Ecological Landscape company based in Framingham, MA that has been in business for 8 years. We look towards Nature to provide us with the best resources to design, create, and care for our landscapes. Our foremost goal is to allow for maximum health and biodiversity in the landscape. The two main services that we provide are Invasive Plant Management (IPM) and designing/installing Native Plant Gardens. We also offer ecological Spring Clean Ups and Fall Leaf Mulching to fill out our season. About working with us: Establish your roots with Green Abundance by Design. Our project based approach and unique services means you will be regularly doing fun and creative work, while avoiding the common repetitive jobs involved with most landscaping such as lawn care. What we love about our work is that each day presents us with a new landscape and new goals to achieve. About this role: Green Abundance by Design will operate as a 4 to 5 man crew for much of our 2022 season. On days where we work as one crew, our Project Manager will run the crew and the Supervisor will help ensure that all parts of the project are completed on time with the highest quality. There will be times during the season where the team will split into two smaller crews and the Supervisor will be responsible for running one of those crews. There may also be times when the Supervisor is asked to do a small project alone. Our Season: * We work an average of 40 hours per week for approximately 40 weeks per year. * Our season starts as early in March as the weather allows with a goal of having the season wrapped up by mid December. * Our work days are typically from 7am to 3pm, but may extend beyond 3pm to ensure the completion of jobs or to prepare for the next day. * We almost always avoid weekend work. We deeply value a work life balance and believe that rest on the weekends is ideal for the longevity of the crew. * This role will call for part time work during the winter including: ** Winter Invasive Plant Management (IPM) when the weather allows ** Organization projects in our shop ** Self guided training and education Compensation & Benefits: * The compensation for this role is unique given our deep desire to provide year round financial stability for a role that is not full time in the winter. ** You will receive a full week of pay for 52 weeks of the year, even though you will only be asked to work approximately 38 full weeks. ** We shut down for 2 full weeks during the season (July & September) to create intentional space for the rejuvenation of the crew. You will be paid for those 2 weeks. ** Of the approximately 12 weeks between each of our seasons, 4 of those weeks will be fully paid weeks off for a total of 6 full paid weeks off each year. ** Of the remaining 8 winter weeks we expect the work to be approximately half time spread among the winter activities described above (IPM, organization & training). * This role pays $25/hr to $35/hr depending on experience and skills. ** Compensation range for the full season is approximately $50,000 to $70,000 * We provide an end of year Holiday bonus to assist with standard holiday expenses. * We provide tools, comfortable uniforms, other gear and boot reimbursement. * You will be included in our Profit Sharing model after the first full year of service. Expectations: * Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation * Professional in appearance and actions * Arrival on time to our shop every day to help pack for the days project * Ability to safely use a variety of hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment including shovels, edgers, rakes, chainsaws, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, etc. * Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift * Desire to learn our processes including self guided training via reading and videos * Desire to build a career with us - we are dedicated to helping you succeed!
