BRAINTREE, MA — Kids in hopes of learning to ski or snowboard need not look any further than Braintree Recreation's "Learn to Ski/Snowboard" program, which is accepting applicants.
The program offers 50 Braintree youths between ages 8 and 15 the chance to learn a new sport under the guidance of professional instructors at Blue Hills ski area.
The program, according to Braintree Recreation, is made up of five sessions between Jan. 5 and Feb. 2. Buses will be provided to take students from Braintree to Blue Hills.
The 2021 program will be coronavirus-conscious and will require social distancing, a low instructor-to-student ratio and a limitation allowing no more than 25 participants on each bus.
Registration for the program opened on Monday. This year's program, including round-trip bus transportation, costs $259 for a lesson and lift ticket; $339 for a lesson, lift ticket and rental; and an additional $30 for helmet rental.
