Special Presidential Dinner to celebrate the bicentennial of Ulysses S. Grant’s birthday on April 27, 2022. Special Presidential Dinner to celebrate the bicentennial of Ulysses S. Grant’s birthday on April 27, 2022. Dinner, prepared by all-star team of chefs from Clermont County, will reflect a presidential menu from the 1860s, as well as menu items that would have been found on Union soldiers’ plates during the Civil War. Period music to be played by Union Army Band and reenactment of an “Interview with Ulysses S. Grant” by local actors. Each attendee will receive a special commemorative bicentennial U. S. Grant coin. The Grant 200th Committee will be your dinner host or organizer for this event. *Proceeds to benefit educational programming at Grant's birthplace. 6:00pm- Cocktail Hour and Tasting Stations. 7:00pm- Dinner Served, enjoy music by an Union Army Band. 8:00pm- Interview with President U.S Grant (Local Actors) 8:15pm- Dessert served. Union Army Band performs with costumed demonstration of historical social dances by University of Cincinnati’s Forget-Me-Not Dance Company. 9:00pm- Event Ends Presidential Dinner Menu (inspired by White House menus from the 1860's): • Dinner Salad • 8oz Sirloin with Melah’s Red Wine Sauce • Roasted Mushrooms • Smashed Petite Redskin Potatoes • Dessert – Birthday Cake served with Rice Pudding (President Grant’s favorite dessert.)
