CERT Traffic & Crowd Management This course will teach the basics of how to manage traffic & crowds during events and disasters. Notice that control is not in the name of the course. CERT members are not authorized to control crowds or traffic. We do assist in maintaining safe and secure traffic & crowd conditions to facilitate a safe environment for disaster response and community events. The Marion County CERT has frequent requests for events that require traffic & crowd management volunteers. We assist with food drives, parades, run/walk, and other special events. We need trained volunteers to manage traffic in light, moderate and heavy traffic areas. This training will provide knowledge of how to manage flow of traffic & crowds for the upcoming Lawrence 4th of July special events and in general. Volunteers will be placed in the areas they feel comfortable according to their skills. This is a required course for the Traffic & Crowd Team. Come out and take a refresher if you have already taken the course.
