LivingWorks ASIST is a two-day face-to-face workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations. PLEASE NOTE: YOU ARE SIGNING U P FOR 2 CONSECUTIVE DAYS. Thursday, March 31st, AND Friday, April 1st from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM on both days. At a LivingWorks ASIST workshop, you'll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, providing a skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive. Two knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring your comfort and safety. She is a certified instructor in the following curriculums: Mental Health First Aid, ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Traing ), QPR (Question Persuade Refer), Toolbox, TMEC (Tobacco, Marijuana & E-cigarettes),and Botvins Lifeskills Training. She has created many custom trainings and presentations on a variety of prevention topics, including drug and alcohol prevention, mental health promotion and prevention, problem gambling prevention, mental wellbeing and SEL topics (Social Emotional Learning). She is an active member of the Malheur County Prevention Coalition, and heads up the planning of the annual Hands Around the Park for Recovery celebration that takes place each year in September. Paula has a passion for the work she does because she says, “it touches my heart on a personal level as well as professionally. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to help destigmatize mental health issues and raising awareness about addiction, suicide and mental wellness in our community.”
