About the role We are looking for an experienced maintenance tech to help manage our properties across the Denver metro area. We buy single family homes and enables our tenants to save a downpayment to purchase the homes they rent from us by hosting short term rentals in them. The maintenance tech will be responsible for overseeing the work done to modify the home before we rent it out, performing small maintenance tasks and overseeing and performing quality control on bigger maintenance items to maintain the quality of our properties and ensure an excellent experience for our renters. We are a fast growing company driven by a mission to make single family home ownership more accessible in markets like Denver. This is our first maintenance role and has significant opportunities for growth as we are rapidly adding properties to our portfolio. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly disciplined in time management and a on-the-fly problem solver. Must be able to travel over the Denver metro area- must have a vehicle (you will be reimbursed for mileage) What you’ll be doing Oversee construction work to modify and onboard new homes to our portfolio Design solutions and manage work for issues raised by resident work order requests Control costs and fix issues by making minor repairs and extending the life of property features Perform regular quality checks on our properties to ensure condition standards are maintained Work with our contractors to oversee the quality of work performed and keep projects on timeline and budget Serve as an in-person consultation for tenants to discuss property related issues Provide high level cost estimates for proposed modifications to homes being considered for purchase Assess competitiveness of contractor estimates to minimize costs and ensure efficient construction Skills/Experience Required: Extensive experience in residential construction and home improvements Competencies with plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry and other common home issues Organized, independent and disciplined self-starter with strong time management skills Customer-service obsessed- you’ll be the face of the organization to tenants when their homes have problems Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards for our properties Tech-savvy and able to learn and use phone applications to aid in condition reporting and confirming work order completion Flexible and adaptable- able to dynamically prioritize and pivot based on changing organizational needs Interested in growing with the company as we scale up our operations Bonus Skills/Experience: Licensed in one or more of the following: electrical, HVAC, plumbing Experience hosting Short Term Rentals (Airbnb,VRBO) Tech-mindset: data-driven decision making around the work that you do and oversee Ability to work flexible hours based on needs
